St Paddy’s Day Boilermaker @ Wolf at the Door
From Friday 13th March
Available from Friday is this – the Wolf at the Door St Paddy’s Boilermaker. For those not familiar with what a boilermaker is, in it’s simplest term it’s a beer and a shot. Easy. This one is £7.50 and consists of a pint of Guinness (obviously) and a shot of Redbreast 12 (a lovely Irish whiskey). Get down there, get involved and perhaps have a couple of tacos and baos too?!

Like most Americans, Hard Rock Cafe will be going full-on crazy this St. Patrick’s Day with some super-special treats for anyone looking to get into the Gaelic mood. They’re offering a limited-edition St Paddy’s Day menu (£25) which consists of their St Paddy’s Shake; a blend of vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookies, a touch of mint and white chocolate whipped cream. They then add some Absolut Vanilla Vodka to it so it’s proper boozy. Then there’s their Guinness & Bacon Jam Cheeseburger, which comes with Jameson bacon jam and Guinness cheese sauce, served with seasoned fries. Two proper Irish specials to enjoy between Friday 13th and Wednesday 18th March.

St Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday 15th March
At the time of writing this, the St Paddy’s Day Parade is STILL going ahead – even in the face of mass media hysteria about Corona virus. Taking place on Sunday 15th March, the annual parade is usually the culmination of the rather excellent Irish Festival that takes place around the city. Setting off from the Irish World Heritage Centre at 12pm on Sunday, the parade will finish on Deansgate around 2pm. I’m not sure what to expect from the parade itself (I’ve never actually been) but there will most likely be plenty of Irish dancers and big foam Guinness hats.
