When I think about 1847, I think about a posh restaurant with not-so-posh prices- certainly my kind of place! Located right by the Royal Exchange Theatre, 1847 is a veggie/vegan dream- serving top-class, bespoke food that will make you wonder why you ever touched dairy or meat in the first place! Their Pre-Theatre menu, which is available Monday-Saturday 3-6pm, includes the Chefs’ Choice starter, main course, and your choice of a glass of wine, cocktail or soft drink. And you get all of this for £19.50! Alternatively, 1847 also offer an Express Lunch, which includes a man and a glass of wine for £10, between the hours of 12-3, Monday to Friday.

When it comes to vegan food, it is safe to say that Italian food can be tricky. There is an abundance of milk, cheese and eggs in food from this part of the world and it is usually off limits.
