What with it being International IPA Day on Wednesday and International Beer Day on Friday, it’s a big week for Beatnikz Republic.
But what might just be the two biggest dates in their calendar isn’t enough, nope. They’ve even got a special SILENT AUCTION and a Yorkshire Day Tap Takeover.
Silent Illustration Auction in aid of Derian House
Wednesday 31st August
4pm – 9pm
There are loads of prints up for grabs all based around the theme ‘MEMORIES’ made by local illustrators and designers. There’s even one signed by Noel Fielding (with a certificate of authenticity). All the money raised is going to Derian House, who provides care and respite for young people with life-limiting and life-shortening conditions across the north-west.
This fantastic event kicks off at 4pm and follows the traditional bidding process found in English auctions – writing your bid on a piece of paper and placing in a box in front of the item. As always, the highest bid wins. The event has been organised by Bind Studio, a local graphic design studio owned by Ben Tustin.
Make sure to get down, raise loads of money for an amazing charity and drink some good ole beer.
Stupid Sexy Yorkshire
Yorkshire Day Tap Takeover
Thursday 1st August
A reet good takeover from the other side of the hills is kicking off at noon and lasting until late this Thursday showcasing some of the best beers from the best breweries.
The breweries bringing their best tipples include; Abbeydale Brewery, Atom Beers, Brass Castle Brewery, Brew York, North Brewing Co and Turning Point Brew Co.
There are loads on the taps including a fruited rye sour (7.2%), a pineapple and coconut wheat ale (3.6%) and even a vanilla and coffee imperial stout (12.6%). Whatever your tipple there’s something for you (and even me with a good old lager from North Brewing Co).
