An institution in Sheffield since 1996, Abbeydale have been consistently banging out great beers from their stalwart flagship pale Moonshine to the amazingly weird brews out of the Funk Dungeon Project.
They’re bringing 6 beers to the taps…
#4 – Grapefruit Wheat Beer, 4.8%
This is the perfect “sun drinking” beer… we can only hope the rain stops and summer actually begins so we can guzzle this one down. There’s a sharp and citrus body from grapefruit and a bright golden amber colour in this hazy wheat beer.
Rum Barrel Aged Methuselah – BA Imperial Bretted Stout, 10.5%
A big, bold and boozy drink that is a full-bodied malt-driven stout. There’s a hint of brett funkiness on the nose and just enough tartness to provide balance on the palate. Expect it to be sumptuously smooth and strikingly robust.
Birdhouse Tea Beer – Green Tea, Jasmine & Hibiscus Beer, 4.2%
Collaborating with local artisan Tea blenders, Birdhouse Tea Company. The pale ale will have a slight pink tinge with jasmine, summer fruits and hibiscus aromas. Essentially, it’s like a beer with tea in it! It’s fruity and floral with a good hoppy edge.
Forge – Ancient Grain IPA, 6.0%
Another collaboration of Abbeydale, with their neighbours, Forge Bakehouse sees an age-old recipe in an all grain IPA.
Serenity #9 – Sabro & Citra Dry Hop Session IPA, 3.8%
A super hopped session IPA that is just about everything you need from a beer with an abv as low as 3.8%. It’s dangerously easy to drink, full of flavour and has a citrus, tropical body.
Unbeliever
Unbeliever is Abbeydale’s delicious ever-changing sour series. The idea for this brew came from when something went absolutely catastrophically wrong, finding a new way to salvage almost 5000 litres of beer. The result was an amazing new concoction. They now experiment with flavours of the brew, but there’s always tasty combinations for you to pucker your face around! They’re bringing a surprise to Beatnikz – so they don’t even know what this one is yet!
