The Printworks will once again be dedicating the August Bank Holiday weekend to The Manchester Soul Festival, raising money for The Christie. Over the past 4 years, the event has raised over £100,000 and this year it’s back and even bigger!

The event sees you Dancing in the Street, Martha Reeves style filled to the brim with the nostalgia of Soul.

The main stage, situated in the Pump Yard, will once again host the ‘Frank Byrne stage,’ named in memory of the DJ and Manchester legend who devoted himself to the Soul scene for over thirty years. Frank created the festival in thanks to The Christie for taking care of him as he battled with oesophageal cancer. He worked tirelessly to make it a success until he sadly passed away in 2015.

It will see the likes of Stax of Soul, Rumble Fat Band, The Soul temptations and plenty of soul DJs such as Dave Starr and Fay L Jones.

There’s plenty of mini soul events taking place leading up to the event in The Printworks including from live music to dance parties.
