It’s certainly no secret that Zouk offer more than just your bog-standard curry dishes, there’s a lot more happening down on Chester Street…

Let’s talk about the Terrace. Mostly because it’s the Summer and that’s what we all ought to be doing and where we all ought to be sitting. Zouk’s massive space offers up plenty of tables, blankets and heaters and a moving cover for when the rain undoubtedly comes.

They’ve thought of everything at Zouk and they’re ready to welcome you into the terrace…

To Drink…

First and foremost and probably the most important, DRINKS.

Zouk recently updated their cocktail menu so naturally, I’ve lived on this terrace sipping on them ever since. My personal favourite is the Spiceberry Swizzle £8.50 which features loads of fresh berries mushed together with some lovely spiced rum. As a final flourish you can even relive your childhood with the popping candy. Terrific.

If cocktails aren’t your thing of course Zouk have plenty of options for you from their fully stocked bar. From wines to Prosecco, Champagne to cider. There’s a tipple for everyone and their nan

To Eat…

If you’ve decided to take the rest of the afternoon off work, sit on the terrace and soak up the sun, I can recommend nothing else but Zouk’s fantastic Tiffin Lunch.

There’s a different one every day of the week, so you really could just skive off work every day – although that’s probably not particularly advised.

Each Tiffin comes as a choice of meat, veggie, vegan and even a lighter grill option – each containing a rotating selection of traditional Punjab dishes alongside a portion of rice and naan bread.

If you’re not there for lunch, or maybe you’ve been there for lunch and it’s time to eat again. You’ve really got free rein of the whole menu.

But if you’re sat outside enjoying the sun, I’d recommend something off the grill like a Chicken and Lamb Shawarma or the Zouk Seafood Special including tiger king prawns, haddock, warm water prawns & mushrooms cooked with pomegranate & coriander seeds in a thick spicy sauce. Delicious and refreshing.

To Smoke…

An unusual addition but almost necessary on the terrace – Zouk have all the classic flavours from blueberry and strawberry to mixed fruit and melon & mint. You can choose your strength, but Zouk recommends one head of tobacco per two people.

Made traditionally over hot coals so be careful you muppets. And also, it does contain tobacco so it’s strictly for over 18s.
