3 of the city's best chefs have created immersive supper clubs that merge food with art.
Heading into its 22nd annual event, the nationally acclaimed Manchester Food & Drink Festival is hosting 3 events for 2019 with some of Manchester’s best chefs in the stunning setting of Manchester Art Gallery.
These exclusive Supper Clubs will showcase an immersive dining experience focussed around the art exhibitions that promise to be a delight to all the senses.
The first event takes place on Friday 28th June with ‘A Midsummer Nordic Feast’ courtesy of the acclaimed local chef, Mary-Ellen McTague.
The four-course Scandi banquet will accompany the drinks reception and private tour of the gallery’s popular Nordic Craft & Design exhibition in the bright and airy glass-roofed atrium. Of course, there will be authentic Scandi decor and soundtrack too.
The next event takes place on Saturday 7th September, and is all about Spain. ‘Get Together with El Gato Negro’s Simon Shaw’ will create a breathtaking Spanish sharing feast menu inspired by the new group show; Get Together and Get Things Done.
Tickets include a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, live music and entertainment throughout the evening.
The final event, on Saturday 5th October, will celebrate the wider aspects and outstanding artworks of the Art Gallery’s extensive collections. The event is hosted by Aiden Byrne, famously the youngest in the UK to secure a Michelin star and owner and executive chef at Restaurant MCR.
Each dish will be inspired by a piece of art on display in the gallery. and will be explained as it is served by Aiden who will divulge the connection of art and dish while curators explain the exhibition.
The events that combine two of life’s greatest pleasures in one of Manchester’s most magnificent venues are not to be missed!
