Sit & Stay: A Dog Show with a Difference at Sadler’s Yard

Sadler’s Yard namesake James Sadler most famously rode his hot air balloon with his pet cat in tow, but this September it’s all about another four-legged friend.

That’s right, dogs are taking the spotlight as new event Sit & Stay at Sadler’s Yard takes place on Saturday 8th September.

With an ever-growing number of pooches parading around Manchester, Sit & Stay at Sadler’s Yard will give them a chance to win big in a number of different dog show categories on the day, plus shop (and snack) to their heart’s content.

Expect to find something for every pooch personality in the show at 1.30pm, from Smallest Dog with the Biggest Attitude to Gentle Giants. Make sure you dress to impress for categories Best Dressed for the Weather and Lookalikes, set to find the owner and pooch pairing set to make everyone double take, and start practising for Best Trick.

There are prizes galore for those taking number one spot, including a selection of treats from Lucky Dog Deli, a personalised pet portrait from local artist Steph Coathupe, and four dishes and drinks at Scrancoats from Ancoats General Store. Of course, we don’t want to leave anyone out, so it’ll be rosettes all round for anyone entering the show.

You can find the full list of show categories here or via the Sadler’s Yard Facebook page.

You’ll also be able to pick up new accessories, treats and toys from local producers from such as Ivy & Duke, Hunter’s Kitchen and Goody Paws, before putting those four paws up with a pint at The Pilcrow, and taking plenty of Instagram worthy snaps of the day.

Don’t worry – they haven’t forgotten about the humans! With Living Room Dance Club and Pasta Paul both taking their moment at the decks and food by Wholesome Junkies and Bon Street Food, there’s plenty to keep the whole family happy.
