Zouk might not be the first place you think of when it comes to summer but it’s actually so much more than delicious and spicy curries!
Summer is FINALLY here and naturally, we are thinking about cocktails. Zouk has a new cocktail menu bursting with everything you could ever need. I’ve handpicked some of my favourites that I think everyone needs to try.
A simple twist on a classic, Royal Raspberry Mojito (£8.95) is the most regal of mojitos with a mix of Bacardi Carta Blanca, Chambord Royal Raspberry liqueur a dash of citrus and plenty of fresh muddled raspberries. The refreshing drink is topped off with a good glug of Prosecco. It’s sweet and refreshing and dangerously easy to drink.
A concoction of fresh raspberries, blackberries, cranberry all muddled together with a good splash of citrus and vanilla, the Spiceberry Swizzle £8.50 is a sweet and fruity tipple topped with loads of spiced rum. If the sun is shining you could mistakenly think you’re in Jamaica. Sort of, anyway.
Another Prosecco filled cocktail the Elderbubble (£9.50) is a mix of vodka, St Germain elderflower liqueur, refreshing lemon and cucumber. It’s then topped off with Prosecco for a bit of fizz. The Elderbubble is cool, calm and collected but I can’t promise you will be after a few of these…
Whiskey served with mint sugar and bitters, the Mint Julep (£8.50) is halfway between an Old Fashioned and a Mojito. The cocktail was made popular at Kentucky Derby and it is perfectly refreshing for a summer’s day and much easier to swig than a usual strong Old Fashioned.
Everyone’s favourite drink for the past few summers has been gin and Prosecco. Combine them and you’ve got Pink 75 (£9.50). Zouk’s twist on the classic French 75 with a shot of Bombay Sapphire Gin, Chambord & lemon juice topped with a good drizzle of Prosecco.
Why not pop down for something off the grill and a few cocktails on Zouk’s sheltered terrace!
