Tim Bacon, Managing Director of the Living Ventures Group, certainly knows a thing or two about giving the people of Manchester what they want and true to form Tim is not about to put his feet up, but this time it’s personal! Australasia is Tim’s chance to bring a slice of his homeland to Manchester, the city he now calls home, recreating what he loves most about the best places to eat and drink in vibrant cosmopolitan cities like Sydney and Melbourne . A first for Manchester, Australasia is a stylish and popular venue but without a hint of pretence. Modern Australian cuisine combines Pacific Rim flavour with strong European foundations, a blend of Indonesian and Southeast Asian influences.

Intriguing from the outside and beautiful within, the bespoke glass entrance sweeps guests downstairs to the irresistible charms of the restaurant’s amazing cuisine and relaxed ambience. With a 3 am licence on Friday and Saturday, the late night bar boasts a compelling list of signature cocktails, an impressive wine list and electrifying guest DJs to keep the evening going.
All that aside the best thing about Australasia is, without doubt, the food. It was like I’d never tasted good food before, I don’t usually go that far with my reviews but this was something else, add that to the i-Pad Wine menus and impeccable service there’s really nothing else to say other than I’ll see you there.

Just had a meal there , as wonderful as you say , cannot wait to go back !!!
Ate there last night before the Neil Diamond concert. I have to say that it was possibly one of the finest culinary delights I have ever experienced. Highly recomed the sushi and pineapple thai curry finished off with a plum sake! Good work – keep it up guys
Called on Sunday at 5.15 without a booking with my husband and daughter, greeted with we’re very busy have you booked, and we’ll fit you in but you’ll have to be quick. Didn’t get starter until 6.10 waitress said it was her fault but no apology, then another wait for mains. Loosing tempter by this time when Manager came over and apologised. Wine waiter was very pleasant and let the Manager know of our disappointment. The food on the other hand was very good, well presented and a very creative menu.
Second meal there was not as good , some of the dishes on the menu do not have the wow of our first meal , service is erratic , some of the staff are wonderful , some clear the table and not say a word ! Food took a while to arrive , it was empty at lunch , and different servers all coming to the table to ask the same questions , a real lack of communication. At the moment it lacks attention to detail , feels like no one is in charge of the service , think they have taken their hands off the reins to soon ! There was a mix up with the bill that the manager had to sort out but he couldn’t come to the table to apologise !Very good though , but could be amazing ! Still a long way to go….
Visited Australasia for the first time today with two of my daughters, as part of a birthday luncheon surprise for one of my daughters. Australasia is beautifully decorated and furnished with an extremely relaxed atmosphere. The ‘icing on the cake’ was the delicious food/drinks including the welcoming service from the friendly staff and our waiter Leon. Most certainly ticked the box as one of her birthday surprises, proved to be a an excellent treat for us all.
Will certainly recommend Australasia to family and friends
