Manchester’s master drinks educators and innovators The Liquorists are set to reinvent the hedonistic ritual of cocktail hour with the launch of their latest creation, Kowloon Correspondents Club in association with Belvedere Vodka.

Opening its doors on Thursday 7th November and every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon until midnight in the former Kitchen Restaurant site at Barton Arcade, Deansgate, in the city centre, Kowloon Correspondents Club is a two-month-long luxury creative cocktail experience.

Set in 1930’s Kowloon, Hong Kong, guests will be transported back to the decadent glory days of the Pearl of the Orient and a time when cocktails reigned supreme. The perfect setting in which to reinstate the art of the cocktail hour, The Liquorists’ Kowloon Correspondents Club bar will feature world class bespoke cocktails alongside signature serves in an elegant, colonial setting.

A unique vodka martini station with built-in seats and a dedicated mixologist will serve a ‘three martini lunch’ available at any time during opening hours and from 5pm-7pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday ‘KCC’s Cocktail Hour’ will offer a chance for guests try innovative and classic cocktails at half price.

The lounge area, which features opium bed style seating and lacquered oriental tables, will play host to FREE interactive Cocktail Ritual Masterclasses which include two bespoke cocktails and the chance to taste a whole range of luxury infusions including the opportunity to taste Belvedere Lemon Tea, normally only available in the US and duty free, making it a UK exclusive.

The journey doesn’t end there, stepping up to KCC’s bar, guests will pick up a passport (drinks menu) and follow the trail of Mr. Albert Henry Belvedere, a fictional foreign correspondent from Manchester, as he travels from Victoria Station to his Kowloon watering hole via Liverpool, New York, San Francisco, the Polynesian Islands, Rangoon, Bombay, Mombassa, Cape Town and Madeira, experiencing the exotic flavours and influences he would have encountered on this epic journey through unique serves created by The Liquorists.

Commenting on the announcement, Tom Sneesby, co-founder of The Liquorists said:
“We’re thrilled to have been chosen by Belvedere, a truly global premium brand, to create and deliver a luxury creative cocktail experience and where better to put it than Manchester? We’ve come a long way since quitting our bar management jobs and setting up The Liquorists in 2010. Jody (Monteith) and I knew there was a clear gap in the market to bring a splash of social history, creativity and world class mixology together with the aim of inspiring and informing both bar tenders and consumers. For the first time Kowloon Correspondents Club gives us the perfect opportunity to showcase all our talents. We hope we’ve created a unique, enriching experience and with FREE ritual masterclasses with cocktails as just part of the fun, we hope everyone will want to come down and share our love for cocktails created using the most versatile of premium spirits.”

Visitors to Kowloon Correspondents Club will be able to choose from a bespoke menu of cocktails created by The Liquorists, including Belvedere’s portfolio of macerations from Belvedere Black Raspberry, Citrus, Bloody Mary and Pink Grapefruit to Lemon Tea. Currently only available to buy in travel retail stores, Belvedere Lemon Tea is a 100% natural blend of green tea, black tea, chamomile, honey, ginger and lemongrass inspired by Iced Tea as it receives its premier tasting in Manchester.

Guests must be over 18 to enter, nightly interactive masterclasses are free but places are limited. To reserve your place email KCC@theliquoristsonline.com book online at www.theliquorists.com/KCC
