If you have read any of my work before, you will know that I am obsessed with La Bandera, and I feel like it is the perfect place to take your dad if you want to treat him this father’s day.
Seriously, there is not a single thing not to love about the place. First up, the drinks menu is impeccable. It doesn’t matter if you are after a frosty pint of beer, fine Canarian wine or an expertly crafted cocktail- so whatever Dad’s tipple – they are sure to have it covered.
As for the food, well it is nothing short of fantastic. You can sample a range of authentic Spanish tapas with a creative Canarian twist, or more substantial dishes if you don’t feel like sharing with the family.
I cannot be in the vicinity of the restaurant without the burning desire to tuck into a plate of their Jamon Iberico or Pan con Tomate or world-famous Squid Ink Croquettes.
And that’s just the start of it. I’m slowly working my way through the entire menu- but a few highlights so far are the Carrilleras de bacalao (cod cheeks), Chorizo in red wine and the Pulguitas de Cordero (pulled chilli lamb).
Honestly, it is the perfect place to treat your Dad this weekend, and what’s more, he will eat for free this Sunday which means it will be kind on the old wallet.
There are a few T’s & C’s to blast through of course. The cheapest main or cheapest two tapas will be deducted from your bill for Dad and your booking is only valid on a table of two or more. You must order a minimum of 5 tapas dishes too.
