The Christmas Wellington stuffed with Pigs in Blankets!

I mean come on. Can Christmas get ANY better?

This Christmas I’ve seen a wonderful array of culinary delights hit my inbox. There’s been a full 3kg wheel of cheese, a six-foot high Christmas Pudding and even a turkey stuffed with a goose stuffed with a duck.

Only one of those is real – but you get the idea.

Well, another beauty has just hit my Gmail and I needed to tell you all about it. The River Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel have introduced a new Wellington – one that is stuffed with all of your Christmas favourites…

Putting a festive twist on the traditional Beef Wellington, this bad boy contains a roulade of Cheshire turkey, cranberry stuffing, pigs in blankets and free-range duck breast, all rolled in a sage pancake and all butter puff pastry.

They’re launching it hot on the heels of their new’ Wellington Wednesday’, a weekly offering that sees a different unique Wellington hit the menu for one day only.

Dave Ashton, Executive Head Chef, commented: “Beef Wellington is one of my all-time favourite dishes and is perfect for the River Restaurant, which prides itself on serving British classics done well. Our Wellington Wednesday offer has proved extremely popular with diners, so we wanted to bring out something extra-special for the festive season!”

The Wellington costs £50 for two people and is available every Wednesday apart from Christmas Day.
