Electrik launch Yadda Yadda kitchen takeover in Chorlton

Following on from the success of Volta and The Refuge, The Unabombers have decided to shake things up again at their original haunt, Electrik in lovely Chorlton.

Luke Chowdrey and Justin Crawford’s continued journey into food, drink and hospitality sees them taking inspiration from their endeavours, bringing in Phil Cook; original senior sous chef from Volta to head this summer kitchen takeover.

With a passion for Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Persian food, the lads have decided on welcoming Yadda Yadda to Electrik for a full-on street food kitchen takeover.

So you can expect handmade flat breads made fresh every day with amazing slow cooked meats, fresh fish, vegan delights and a mezze of amazing street-food small plates.

The emphasis in the kitchen is on big hitting flavours, disruptive cooking with a no rules approach which includes Smoked Almond Dahl, Biryani Arancini Balls, Korean Steak, Kofta Cheeseburger and their incredible Keralan Fried Chicken with lime leaf mayo.

Their passion for high quality produce and provenance sees premium butchers ‘Taste Tradition’ and local fishmongers ‘Out Of The Blue’ provide amazing high quality produce.

On top of the food, every Friday between 5pm and 9pm will see Yadda Yadda Friday People’s Club (Y.Y.F.P.C) taking place at Electrik aimed at the after-work crowd, fusing a food and drink offering (2 x Flatz kababs and 4 beers, or a bottle of Prosecco, for just £20) with a specially curated line-up of DJs.

Each DJ selected to offer something a little different from the norm, delivering sounds such as world music, Middle Eastern, afro, reggae, 1930’s swing, soul and much more.

Line-up so far:

  • Aug 4th – Hammam Blues
  • Aug 11th – Magic Island DJs
  • Aug 18th – Dom, Blood & Fire
  • Aug 25th – Marc Starr
  • Sept 1st – Dr Sid
  • Sept 8th – SNO aka Nongi Oliphant
