The owners behind successful bars NoHo and Dusk til Pawn have confirmed they are to open a third venue at the Grade II listed Sevendale House in the Northern Quarter, Manchester.

Due to open this winter, Cooper Hall will be situated in the basement fronting onto Dale Street, offering a wide range of European beers, IPAs craft ales, wines and cocktails.

Taking inspiration from the building’s history, which was built as a trade warehouse for I.J. & G Cooper Ltd in 1903, Cooper Hall is not your typical beer hall. The venue has been painstakingly restored over a number of months, uncovering a number of original features including glazed brick walls and large skylight windows. Plush leather seating combined with salvaged wood benches and tables and reclaimed vintage furniture will give Cooper Hall a relaxed, inviting beer garden style atmosphere, right in the heart of the Northern Quarter.

Cooper Hall will stock Pilsner Urquell from the Czech Republic, alongside (Simon/Rebecca to fill in).

DJs will play several nights a week and once a month, Cooper Hall will work with a number of street food traders to put on a themed food night.

This is NoHo Ltd’s fourth city centre venture, with Wood & Co opening on South King Street earlier this year. Cooper Hall is its biggest venue so far, with 150(?) covers.

Rebecca Race, director at NoHo ltd, said; “Sevendale House has such an abundance of character, we felt confident we could create a concept totally different to NoHo and Dusk til Pawn that would complement our existing offering. Our inspiration for the interior very much comes from the history of the building, we wanted to pay tribute to its namesake.

“Cooper Hall is not a beer hall in the traditional sense. We’re creating a bar that’s the ideal place to drop by for a drink after work with your friends, hang out at the weekends, and generally come and enjoy a range of quality beers and cocktails in a chilled out environment, with good music and food events with really decent street food traders.”
