Roll up, roll up for The Great Manchester Punch Dup. Leaders of the rum revolution, The Duppy Share are hosting a week long punch up between the best of Manchester’s bars.

From Monday 19th through to Sunday 25th October, the punches will be flying in 8 bars, each serving their own signature punch recipes for just £5. But it wouldn’t be a Duppy event without a sprinkle of mischief. Drinkers must bring their own punch vessel. From teapots to trinket boxes, boots and baking tins, receptacles of all shapes and sizes are welcome. The only rules are that there are no leaks.

Proceedings will culminate in the Punch Dup Golden Pineapple Awards at the infamous Liars Club on Sunday 25th October. Hopefully you will leave with your eyebrows intact.

Leading ladies of the bar review world, Barchick, have created a guide to each of the bars, available throughout Manchester.

The local bars lining up for the challenge are:
Keko Moku, 100 High Street
The Liars Club, 19A Back Bridge Street
Cane & Grain, 49-51 Thomas Street
Apotheca, 17 Thomas Street
Blue Pig, 69 High St
Hula, 11 Stevenson Square
El Capo, 12 Tariff St
Hold Fast, 50 Newton St

Entry is free to all bars, and throughout the week rum revelers can enter their punch vessels on Instagram and Twitter using #MCRPunchDup @TheDuppyShare for a chance to win a prestigious Punch Dup Golden Pineapple Award.
