Ever since opening in 1999, The Living Room has crafted a legendary reputation that doesn’t cease at the city’s borders. Already one of Manchester’s most revered cocktail bars and restaurants, a major refurbishment is set to amplify its offering with a fresh layout and the introduction of two branded concept new rooms, The Lounge and The Haig Club Clubman room, which are available for private hire.

Scheduled to reopen its doors on 14th October 2016, the ground floor has been re-designed to retain its unique style but in a refreshed way with more distinct spaces in which to host a hub of activity throughout the week. A first-floor mezzanine that overlooks the bar has been installed, giving musicians the perfect spot to perform over the weekends during the bar’s popular #TLR Saturdays and Sunday Sessions. Elegant furnishings enhance the look and add that extra layer of class and sophistication the venue is known for.

The Lounge is the first of two brand new rooms and will greet guests on the first floor. Sponsored by Grey Goose, the room takes inspiration from the French Riviera and uses calming tones of light blue and white to create a relaxing space for customers to sit back and relax with a drink in hand. Guests will be able to choose from a range of Grey Goose infused drinks, ranging from simple mixers to the room’s signature cocktail, The Lefizz, which combines St-Germain elderflower liqueur with freshly squeezed lime juice and soda water to create a sublime, elegant alternative to Champagne.

The Haig Club Clubman room, opened in partnership with Haig Club, calls the top floor home. Designed to offer the ultimate Haig experience, the room oozes luxury with leather furnishings and hues of dark blue that set it apart from the rest. The first of its kind in the UK, the room comes complete with a private bar and bespoke booths that will make all visitors feel like a cut above the rest. The room will offer Haig Club in a range of formats to suit all tastes; whether you prefer it with a mixer, in a signature Haig Club Clubman or Negroni, or simply on the rocks, one sip certainly won’t be enough. A selection of The Living Room’s popular cocktails, beers and mixers will also be available.

What’s more, new and enhanced food and drink menus have been introduced. Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to reinvent contemporary classics with a Living Room twist, food will be available from 11am. Be it brunch, lunch or an evening meal, guests have the opportunity to indulge in The Living Room’s culinary delights whatever their preference. Dishes such as The Living Room Eggs Royale, Smoked Salmon and Asparagus Salad and Pesto Corn-Fed Chicken Breasts are there to be enjoyed with a drink from the refined cocktail menu. Completing the package, live music will accompany diners every Saturday.

General Manager of The Living Room, Mike said: “The Living Room isn’t just another venue, it is a set from which many a great story has been told. Our enviable reputation has been crafted over the years through hard work and attention to detail and it is one we are very proud of. This latest refurbishment will help us build upon that further. By introducing the two branded concept new rooms in partnership with Grey Goose and Haig Club, we have a truly unique offering that isn’t available anywhere else.

“These, combined with our new and enhanced food and drink menu will give customers the chance to indulge in little luxuries that we hope will keep them coming back. We’re excited to unveil our new look and can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks!”

The venue’s opulent setting has attracted many famous faces over the years, with everyone from TV-stars to premiership footballers regularly visiting the bar for a night on the tiles, which looks set to continue with the newly refurbished site.

The bar will open at 11am until late throughout the week.
