To kick off the beginning of their regular monthly film-themed quizzes, Black Dog Ballroom are hosting a ‘This Is England’ quiz on Wednesday 12th July.
Hosted by quiz legends the Quizzly Bears, the quiz will give This Is England enthusiasts the chance to test their knowledge of the gang, for example, here’s one for you – What is Gadget’s full proper name?!
The film and TV series are a body of work that covers some of the most important youth movements of recent times, one which was framed with a lovingly detailed soundtrack that reflected these subcultures. The quiz will feature music from the beginnings of the skinhead movement with its roots in 1960s West Indies culture, especially ska, soul and reggae music, right through to acid house explosion of the 1990s which marks the culmination of the TV series.
The evening will feature This is England themed cocktails, the entry will be £2 per person and will run from 8pm on Wednesday July 12th at Black Dog Ballroom NQ. There will also be free nachos for each team and prizes for the winning team and runners-up.
