There will be two flavours of gin sorbet available for gin lovers to try, including the original Didsbury Gin with mandarin, or the summer special Raspberry and Elderflower Gin with blueberry.

The gin sorbet has been created in partnership with Ginger’s Comfort Emporium, an ice cream van for grown ups, with a permanent residence in Afflecks Palace in the Northern Quarter.

Ginger is well known for her seasonal variations and unusual combinations including Chorlton Crack (peanut butter and salted caramel), which is why Didsbury Gin chose to partner with her to create these two new limited edition flavours which really bring out the flavour of their gins.

The limited edition sorbets created especially for Didsbury Gin, are not available to buy anywhere so those wanting to try them need to visit the Great Northern this Friday. There will be a limited number of portions available so gin lovers are advised to be quick to avoid missing out.

To create gin sorbet using Didsbury Gin at home, Ginger has shared the recipe:

Raspberry & Elderflower Gin with Blueberry

Ingredients

Method

300g blueberries

150g sugar

200ml water

6 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

6 tbsp Didsbury Gin with Raspberry & Elderflower

  1. Simmer sugar and blueberries together in a pan over medium heat, then add the water and blitz using a hand blender.
  2. Add the lemon juice and gin to taste, before churning in an ice cream churner according to instructions.
