Christmas is the party time of year! December event listings for New York style Northern Quarter hangout the Black Dog Ballroom.

Thursdays weekly

The Kennel Club with Luke Unabomber and Electriks stalwart, Christoff, continues with their fantastic blend of funk, soul and disco, already a huge hit at the New York speakeasy style bar.

The Kennel Club features a selection of exciting special guests all carefully selected by Luke and Christoff. The night is weekly on Thursdays from 10.30pm to 4am and it’s totally free!

Elliot Eastwick’s World Famous Massive Christmas Quiz – Thursday 22 December

It’ll be a Merry QUIZmass for all as Elliot Eastwick’s World Famous Pub Quiz goes festive with prizes under the tree, PLUS, play bonus game ‘WHAT’S IN ELLIOT’S SACK’. Manchester’s musical answer to Magnus Magnusson is renowned for his quirky quiz mastery, music and film based questions and pound shop prizes.

Christmas cocktails

For a winter warmer the Black Dog Ballroom will be serving Rokerderlig winter cider for the very affordable £2.50 a mug throughout December.

Christmas opening hours

The Black Dog Ballroom will be open as usual over the festive season closing only on Christmas Day itself.

Boxing Day

Had enough leftovers and family time, then come down to the Black Dog Ballroom where Crazy P’s Danielle Moore will be playing between 11pm and 2am.
New Year’s Eve Disco

Saturday night regular Neil Smallridge will be joined by Leo Outcast to bring in 2012 with his own unique blend of funk and disco. Tickets will be available from Skiddle and Ticketline and the bar from 1 December

New Year’s Day

Xfm’s Gareth Brooks will be spinning some tunes on New Years Day from 11pm ‘til 2am. One thing is fo sho; it’ll be straight up bouncin’. With an eclectic blend of beats spanning from old school hip-hop to RnB to reggae, there will be something to tickle everyone’s pickle.
If you’re looking to start the new year with an empire state of mind this is the night for you.
