Summer is here and the Black Dog Ballroom is celebrating with a gorgeous new menu packed full of tasty and refreshing salads perfect for lunch on a hot day.
I must admit that given the choice I’m faced with for lunch in the Northern Quarter my mind would not have naturally wandered to the Black Dog Ballroom, but naturally or not it recently did.
Anyone who’s familiar with the Black Dog in the evening will know it’s a guaranteed good night out, you can put money on the atmosphere being exactly how you left it at 2am the week before, but what you might not realise, is that you can head back there the morning after for a late Breakfast or Lunch (or if you’re like me it’s more like Brunch)
The menu rivals most in the NQ and don’t worry about having lunch in a club, the rooms ambience is transformed giving a ‘daylight’ mood and living up to it’s claims to being a Downtown New York speakeasy style venue, that I can vouch for from experience.
There are four new additions to the menu and at £5.95 they will be just right for a healthy lunch with the girls (or boys).
– Crisp fried halloumi with couscous and pomegranate salad
– Feta cheese salad with olives, sunblush tomatoes, cucumber and mixed leaves
– Tuna Nicoise with French beans, mixed leaves, mixed olives, cherry tomatoes, red onion and a soft boiled egg
– Proscuitto, peach and buffalo mozzarella salad with rocket and mixed leaves (Manchester’s Finest Choice Dish)
To celebrate the coming of summer until 15 June anyone who buys ones of these new dishes or any of the other salads or sandwiches on the menu will get another salad for just £1.
