It’s that time of year again, whisper it if you’d prefer, but CHRISTMAS is on the horizon. If the thought of turkey, stuffing and Christmas TV is leaving you cold or you’d rather leave the washing up to someone else and head out for dinner this year, Scene are offering an appetising alternative.

To add some spice into your festive fayre, call in to Scene and try out their delicious Christmas menu, pulling inspiration from the energy and vitality of the sub-continent. Their Christmas menu is a selection of the finest Indian delights to tempt and tantalise your taste buds.

Scene will be serving their hearty dishes to represent the Indian Christmas tradition of Midnight mass followed by a feast of many Indian delicacies, placed at the centre of the table for family and friends  to share. A perfect way to embrace the Christmas spirit.

You can opt for one of the two main 4 course feasts as a grand alternative to the conventional Christmas roast, and don’t worry – Christmas crackers come with both options. The truly amazing thing about Scene’s menus are that every single dish listed is provided, so you will get to sample it all. The first Feast includes starters like their popular Fish Amritsari and the succulent Lamb Chops marinated in aromatic spices and much more at only £26 per person.

The second feast offers slightly larger and different selection of starters from the Spicy Chicken or Salmon Tikka to the Tandoori Tiger Prawn marinated in yoghurt, vinegar and delicate herbs and special tandoori spices. This is £30 per person for a minimum table of six and with both feasts there is a selection of five main courses, basmati pilau rice and traditional fluffy Naan bread.

From the five courses on offer expect to find the creamy Chicken Makhani simmered with tomato and fenugreek and the rich Malai kofta; vegetarian dumplings made with paneer and potatoes and cooked in a creamy tomato sauce. Exclusive to the £30 feast is the Scene Handi Gosht, a tender lamb dish cooked with aromatic spices in a dum pukht style. If you have any room left for dessert you can choose from the Gulab Jamun or the heavenly chocolate cake.

Showcasing the best of India’s exciting street food culture for lunch, the Grand Thali comes in at £17.50 per person and offers guests a vegetarian, chicken or lamb Thali and a tasty selection of starters and spicy poppadoms. If there’s still room, there’s a sweet Gulab Jamun for dessert. This is available throughout the festive season and is served during lunchtimes (12-3pm) between Monday and Friday.
