Big Grillie Style
All I Want For Xmas Burger
Not one to miss out, Big Grillie Style at Joshua Brooks have come up with a truly spectacular creation – their All I Want For Xmas Burger. Combining pretty much everything you can think of to do with Christmas, the burger features Yorkshire puddings instead of a bun, and comes packed with a Sage & Onion Sausage patty, Guinness caramelised onions, port gravy, cranberry glazed bacon, pigs in blankets and parsnip crisps. I’ll tell you now, it’s fantastic.

The Lowry
Yorkshire Pudding Wrap
Head Chef Andrew Green has decided that the humble Christmas Dinner isn’t mobile enough and so he’s gone and wrapped the bloody thing in a massive big Yorkshire Pudding so it’s quicker to clean up your plate and carry around at will. Perfect for a bit of room service actually, perhaps you want to eat it in the shower, in bed, or while shouting ‘Sell, Sell, Sell’ on your mobile while pacing around the room with Bloomberg on the TV.

Crazy Pedro’s
Mary, Joseph and Baby Cheese’s
I wasn’t in the country last year, I was sunning it up on a beach in Nicaragua, so I missed out on Crazy Pedro’s Christmas special which apparently had Christmas cake on it, among some other mental things. Luckily this year they’ve reined it in a bit, with their special consisting of turkey, pigs in blankets, sage and onion stuffing, honey roasted parsnips and cranberry sauce. As usual you can get it as a slice or a full, huge pie all to yourself.

Slice
Gingerbread man Gelato
I’m not sure what gingerbread men have to do with Christmas, perhaps it’s something to do with Germany where all the houses are made of wood and there’s snow everywhere. Maybe it’s because it’s easy to put a little Christmas hat on them with some icing, or perhaps it’s just that the combination of ginger and cinnamon reminds everyone of Christmas. Anyway, Slice have come up with a Gingerbread Man gelato for Christmas and it’s amazing. No matter how cold it is – you should get some.

Cane & Grain
Festive Burgers
There’s a choice of three Christmas special burgers this festive season at Cane & Grain and you can get each one for only £15 with some of their amazing fries and a drink (beer, wine or prosecco). There’s the ‘Get Stuffed’ burger with turkey, pigs in blankets, cheese, stuffing and rum sauce. ‘The Grinch’ seemingly has eff-all to do with Christmas as it’s a beef patty, bacon, cheese, burger sauce and rum sauce. While the ‘Bauble & Squeak’ is for the veggies and comes piled with deep fried bubble and squeak, containing a mix of mash, sprouts, carrots and parsnips.

Northern Soul
Christmas Toastie
Producers of posh toasties, jam packed full of pretty much every ingredient you can imagine, Northern Soul have decided to pop a Christmas Dinner in one of their signatures slabs of sourdough and it’s definitely a winner. Turkey, sausage, cheese, gravy, cranberry sauce, and stuffing – it’s all there except that bread sauce stuff that sits in the centre of the table and goes untouched.

Solita
Christmas Dinner Burger
Of course Solita have a Christmas Burger. And of course it’s absolutely massive. And of course it contains as much Christmas related paraphernalia as you could imagine including loads of turkey, candied pigs in blankets, gammon and even a home-made festive bake the kind you’d find in Greggs but probably much better. It’s a bloody monster. They also offer a veggie Christmas burger too which includes every vegetarian’s best friend – halloumi, a bean burger, festive mushroom bake and deep fried sprouts.

Dogs n Dough
Winner Winner Christmas Dinner
For somewhere that sells hot dogs and pizzas, Dogs N Dough have such a wide range of options when it comes to Christmas specials that they could have come up with anything. Personally I’d have made a hotdog into a pig in blanket, topped it with turkey and cranberry sauce and smothered it in gravy. Equally good though is their Winner Winner Christmas Dinner, a pizza topped with pigs in blankets, the best vegetable ever – parsnips and sage & onion stuffing.

All Star Lanes
Christmas Dinner Burger
Another Christmas burger here and as you’d expect it features the complete contents of a Christmas dinner, packed into a nice, hand-held package. They start with a turkey, cranberry & chestnut patty, add duck fat roasted potato salad, sausage & apricot stuffing fritter, smoked Applewood cheese and treacle cured bacon and then throw a load of tater tots at you and expect you to stuff your face. Which you definitely will do thank you very much.
