The whole interior of the hotel has been created by acclaimed interior designer Amanda Rosa, who has injected a sense of style, class and fun into every nook and cranny of the hotel. The hotel is designed to feel cosy and comfortable, yet still unapologetically cool and modern.

Small, luxurious and fun details are everywhere, from a little cheeky chappy called Chester guarding the reception, right through to movie posters adorning corridor walls and striking photography in the restaurant. Artistic details are well crafted and expertly chosen to compliment Dakota’s style around every corner.

The Dakota Grill is set to be a vibrant neighbourhood-style brasserie offering a classically-inspired menu, rich with seasonal ingredients and flavour. We were lucky enough to get to try some of their dishes too.

We started with the fantastic Crispy Duck Salad (£9) with watermelon, beansprouts, roasted cashews and sesame. Alongside this were some expertly cooked King Scollops (£15) served with Oriental ribs and pork crackling.

For mains, we delighted in a stunning Lamb Loin (£25) with gnocchi, curry emulsion and cashew nuts. We also tried the Beef Fillet (£32) with a potato sarladaises, morel mushrooms and watercress.

Finally, we tucked into one of the most indulgent and wonderful Caramel Panna Cotta (£8) you can imagine, as well as a perfect Creme Brulee (£7) with its perfectly crackable sugar top.

Alongside the Dakota Grill you’ll find a stunning cocktail bar – serving up a whole host of signature and unique cocktail creations, as well as a Manchester first – a Champagne Room. The beautifully designed room is perfect for intimate drinking, as well as exclusive parties for up to 30 guests.

Another unique addition is The Cigar Garden, a purpose-built cigar terrace where you can sit under a heater and enjoy a Cuban or two from their dedicated humidor.

After all of that food, drink and cigar smoking, guests can enjoy one of Dakota’s 137 luxury bedrooms, or better yet – take advantage of one of their 20 luxury suites for a restful sleep overlooking one of Manchester’s best views.

In the morning, you are within a stone’s throw of Piccadilly Station if you need to get off, but if not, stick around and enjoy the artistic buzz of the neighbouring Northern Quarter which is right on Dakota’s doorstep.

Dakota Manchester officially opens on Saturday 18th May, but they are taking bookings for the rooms and Brasserie now.
