University Green is the new retail and leisure destination on Oxford Road developed in a partnership between leading property company Bruntwood and the University of Manchester.

University Green is part of the vibrant growth area within the Oxford Road Corridor neighbourhood of Manchester. It’s an area lined with universities, museums and galleries and is a centre for innovation and learning. Popular local hangouts include cultural institutions like the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Museum, Manchester Academy, Hatch and the Deaf Institute.

The restaurant will continue Mowgli’s trademark, beautifully designed and carefully considered style with bespoke and handmade features throughout. The whole interior is designed by founder Nisha Katona herself who designs the restaurants obsessively and individually for each location, as though she ‘is going to live in them’.

Features of the new Oxford Road restaurant include a floating Indian Temple inspired ‘door on the wall’, a living tree, as well as hand-carved pillars and signature lighting.

The menu is all about fresh, vibrant, fuss-free, home-kitchen style Indian cooking.

As usual, founder and dedicated curry evangelist, Nisha will be banishing Indian food stereotypes with a stunning menu of fresh and authentic, healthy, flavour-packed dishes with tonnes of vegetarian and vegan options.

Nisha still handpicks her kitchen team ensuring that they are complete ‘curry virgins’ so that each and every Mowgli chef can be trained from scratch with no preconceptions.
