The New Lowry Hotel Afternoon Tea

Traditional Afternoon Tea at The Lowry Hotel has been a favourite pastime to visitors and Mancunians alike since the hotel open in 2001.

The Lowry Hotel’s River Restaurant is now extending its seating times for afternoon tea, in a bid to accommodate all guest looking to indulge in the delicious seasonal range of sandwiches, and pastries. The new afternoon tea will replace the traditional lunch menu in the River Restaurant with more substantial savoury dishes still being offered on the bar menu.

As well as the longer opening hours, a themed Limited-Edition Afternoon Tea is to be offered each month. This deluxe Afternoon Tea will be heavily influenced by local events, produce and ingredients to create an exciting and different Afternoon Tea experience.

The first limited edition tea will be Pride-themed to celebrate Manchester’s prominent and influential LGBT+ community. £1 from every Pride Tea sold in August will be donated to the Manchester Pride charity, who will be holding their ‘Big Weekend’ event over the August bank holiday.

The Lowry Hotel’s Traditional Afternoon Tea will be available every month, containing the all the well-loved and classic favourite. Each tea comes with a range of fresh sandwiches, mouth-watering pastries and the traditional scones with clotted cream. Guests will be able to upgrade to include Prosecco or a cocktail.

Alongside the new delicacies, guests will be able to enjoy a pot of their choice of Loose Leaf tea. These delicious teas are provided by Manchester Tea merchant, James Green of Tea from the Manor.

Tea from the Manor choose only the top three grades from the finest whole leaf and flowers teas. Each tea has its own distinctive character and is infused to perfection by The Lowry Hotel’s in-house tea experts.
