Aumbry’s Mary-Ellen McTague launches city centre pop up 4244 Edge St
Mary-Ellen McTague, owner and head chef at Manchester’s ‘Best Restaurant’ Aumbry, is launching her first pop up, 4244 Edge St on 23rd September.
Located in the heart of the Northern Quarter, the 50 cover pop up restaurant will serve a five course taster menu featuring Mary-Ellen’s award winning fusion of British fine dining, traditional methods and historical cookery using the very latest science and technology.
Open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 7pm – 9:30pm, 4244’s hospitality will feel familiar to followers of Aumbry – relaxed, casual and intimate.
The taster menu will comprise of locally sourced, deceptively simple dishes from slow cooked Cumbrian beef to signature favourites grapefruit posset and sautéed mushrooms and snails. Bespoke wine and in house tea pairings will make for a truly unique, contemporary dining experience.
Mary-Ellen McTague said: “4244’s philosophy is to serve exciting, fine dining in the heart of the city without pretention. The restaurant is a place for diners to relax and socialise whilst enjoying the very best cuisine and most importantly, somewhere they can return to regularly.”
The joint venture with operators Sparklestreet will see Mary-Ellen’s first move into the city centre with 4244 undertaking an initial 5 week stay in its Northern Quarter location. With award winning Mary-Ellen in the kitchen and highly-acclaimed hospitality operators Sparklestreet behind the project, 4244 is an unmissable addition to the Manchester food scene.
All 4244 Edge St bookings will be taken via the website www.4244.co.uk from 1st September.
Aumbry will close on 30th August for refurbishments and is due to re-open before Christmas.
