Winner winner chicken dinner, tempted us back for another night at All Star Lanes. Having been bowled over by steak and ribs on our last outing, we were pleased to go back to sample the allure of fried chicken and bowling, using our left over change from the weekends antics.

At £12 a pop, you get one game of bowling, followed by a sit down meal consisting of crunchy, juicy, finger lickin’, good fried chicken, which would have the colonel weeping into his bucket, a side of crispy sweet potato fries and a miniature pan filled with gravy, your mum would be proud of. The chicken dinner, as it says on the tin, most certainly is a winner!

We washed down our chicken with two pints of Samuel Adams, which came with an approving nod from the waiter, and then we headed off to play bowling.

Bowling at All Star Lanes comes with waiter service and complete access to an array of beers, cocktails and, saving the best to last, milkshakes. The Elvis shake is a true American hero, peanut butter, strawberry jelly, topped with crispy, salty bacon. Like all the best States inspired sweet and savoury combinations, this thing rocks.

For a budget mid week night out, or even an excuse to try out All Star Lanes as a venue for the first time, we can highly recommend the place. Do try the rest of the menu, All Star Lanes delivers a satisfying range of all American experience and is a serious contender in town.
