Starting at midday, it is a well-known fact that hip hop & barbecue go together like two peas in a pod, so who better to host a very special pop-up bloc party style eatery than the minds from the renowned grill masters at Big Grillie Style.
They will be coming up the road from their base of operations at Joshua Brooks to cook up a Refuge inspired menu for you to enjoy alfresco style in our courtyard washed down with a cold beer from the guys at Camden Town Brewery.
The line-up for the family friendly barbecue involves Martin Brew, Claud Cunningham, Andy Shake ’n’ Fingerpop and Ruby Basson. Food will be served in the form of burgers, dogs, jerk chicken, fries with both vegetarian and vegan options available.
Alex Applegarth, the head honcho behind Manchester’s favourite street food and the man famous for his inventive literacy brings to The Refuge the following menu:
The Snoop
Bacon cheeseburger, house made burger sauce, pickles and red onions.
The Still Dre
Bacon cheeseburger, barbecue, baconaisse, pulled pork and frazzles.
The Full Unabomber
American style hot dog, ketchup, mustard, crispy fried onions
(vegan and vegetarian dogs also available).
The Re-Fugee-la-la
Jerk chicken thighs, rice and jerk gravy.
Furious Fries
Barbecue seasoned fries topped with baconaisse, barbecue, hot sauce (optional), crispy onions and chillies.
The event will be positioned in the courtyard of The Refuge, free entry, and open to all!
