Burger joints in Manchester are like a clown’s car – there’s always room for more and as such we welcome a brand new burger tour-de-force in the form of Big Grillie Style and Joshua Brooks who have teamed up to offer Gburger. To celebrate they are inviting everyone to a big bash this Saturday including free drinks and food!

Starting in the brilliant Levenshulme market in 2014, Big Grillie Style have recently upgraded to feeding the faces of Manchester’s city centre grafters after taking up permanent residence in the Piccadilly Gardens Market since April 2015.

After a couple of stints at B.Eat Street and Junkyard Golf, Alex Applegarth has decided to take his Big Grillie Style expertise to legendary Manc establishment Joshua Brooks to offer people a more permanent space in which to enjoy lashings of meat, cheese and sauce.

Big Grillie Style’s mission statement is “to provide artisanal quality at affordable rates – mouth-watering, hand-crafted burgers for the masses” and their collaboration at GBurger certainly looks to continue this mantra.

With a love for all things food, 90s and hip-hop you can expect some truly mental burger offerings which will satisfy even the most insatiable hunger. I’m going to start blasting off some descriptions of the food now and even provide some pics so if you’re hungry – look away now…

Highlights include the Notorious P.I.G. (£8) which is two beef patties with double cheese, double bacon, cherry rum BBQ pulled pork, bacon jam, homemade baconnaise and salad.

There’s also the absolutely mental sounding 3 Feet High & Rising Burger (£11.95) which has a monstrous 6 beef patties with loads of cheese, triple bacon, homemade burger sauce and salad.

Vegetarians will be happy with their MIA Burger (£6.95) with 2 falafel burgers, double cheese, Portobello mushroom, halloumi, smoked red pepper mayo and salad. There’s plenty more to choose from including chicken burgers, nachos and loaded fries.

For their launch this Saturday, Alex and GBurger will be throwing a banging bash at Joshua Brooks to celebrate and everyone is invited! It will be an afternoon of live music, DJs and (most importantly) tasters to find out what all the hype is about! You can expect a FREE drink on arrival, 2-4-1 cocktails and plenty of sliders and fries in which to try out the merchandise. So head on down – the party starts at 3pm and should be brilliant – I’ll be there too so don’t eat all the sliders before I get there!
