I do remember the first time I tried a Margarita, but I don’t remember much more of the night after that.
Let’s just say… If you’re not familiar with this delicious cocktail, Margaritas are a tangy blend of tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice, sometimes served with loads of ice and salt around the rim of the glass. It’s a simple drink, but my goodness, they’re bloody good.
Honestly, I always thought they were more of an American ‘thing’, but clearly I am very wrong because Manchester is set to host the Margarita Festival for the second year running on Sunday 5th May.
Following the success of last year’s event at Albert Hall, the Mexican-themed Margarita Rumble will be hosted at Victoria Warehouse and will showcase some of the best Margarita’s Manchester has to offer.
12 of the best bars, restaurants and mixologists from all of the city will arrive – armed with the finest ingredients and booze – in a competition to win the title of, Best Margarita in Manchester.
The best part is, a panel of judges won’t decide who takes home of the trophy, it’s you guys, the paying customers, who will be able to crown the winner.
Visitors will have two whole hours of unlimited cocktails that will be available at independent pop-ups throughout the venue. Once the time is up, people will be asked to vote for their favourite margarita and the winning team will take home the coveted Margarita Rumble trophy!
As well as unlimited booze, live music will feature throughout the day and guests will be invited to get merry and dance with their fellow amigos. If you can honestly think of a better way to spend May Bank Holiday, please let me know…
The competitors for this year are yet to be named, but if it’s anything like last year, you’re in for a treat. Following Mr.Cooper’s win last year, it’ll be interesting to see if they come back to retain their title!
