We’re proud to announce that we’ll be kick starting the UK’s biggest lager festival ‘We Are Lager’ with a full exclusive takeover by us on Thursday 4th April 2019.

Finest favourites Chimpo from Levelz and Nanny Banton will be on the decks throughout playing a mix of Hip Hop, Dancehall, R&B and classic 90’s jams whilst you work your way through the 20 breweries on site who are bringing over 50 styles of lager for your enjoyment!

We’ve also secured our lovely followers with a special discounted ticket price of £5.50 with code ‘FINESTLOVESLAGER‘ for our launch event.

The festival will then continue for another 3 days until Sunday 7th April.

The Lagers

Confirmed to be lugging their lagers to the festival are UK brewers Pillars Brewery, Mondo Brewing Company and Moor Beer, and from the Czech Republic Budvar – most famous for their long-standing (and certainly not the weak-as-piss US version) – Budweiser.

They will be joining lagers from Lost & Grounded, Hacker Pschorr, Kona Brewing Co, Lervig, Paulaner, Donzoko, Giepel Brewing, Braybrooke Beer Co, 71 Brewing, as well as Manchester’s own Cloudwater and Manchester Union Lager.

Also joining the line-up is Finnish craft producer Pyynikin Craft Brewery, Canadian grassroots brewery Collective Arts Brewing and Lucky Saint – producers of “an alcohol-free beer worth drinking”.

As well as the copious amounts of lager for fans to try, there will also be a dedicated gin bar, plus wine, prosecco and soft drinks to ensure there is something for the non-lager drinkers too.

The Food

Also joining the fray will be a long list of food traders – each one trying to get you to part with your money once you’ve had a few bevvies.

There will be burgers, BBQ and wings provided by Urmston favourites Get Chucked, a little taste of Mexico brought by taco kings El Taquero, dim sum by street food & Hong Kong flavour experts Dim Sum Su and providing a comforting carb fix, the Yorkshire based mac & cheese makers Mac Shac.

Delicious desserts & coffee will also be provided by Altrincham newcomer Off The Wheaten Track & Coffee 2 Pick Up. All of the food traders will be providing special lager matching menus so festival attendees can really get the ultimate lager experience.

The Music

As mentioned above the festival will kick off with the Manchester’s Finest takeover on Thursday night, featuring Finest favourites Chimpo from Levelz, Nanny Banton & Gareth Brooks.

The rest of the line-up of DJ’s have been curated by Manchester’s longest running club night Funkademia. Friday will see an Everything Everything (DJ Set), while Saturday will play host to Luke Unabomber (Electric Chair), A Certain Ratio Soundsystem and a heady mix of 80’s and funk with Funkademia V Girls on Film.

Sunday will see Take Me To Church take over, as well as being a dedicated family day where you can bring your family for a day of great drinks, good food, chilled vibes, and child-friendly activities.

Jamie Scahill, co-founder of Manchester Union Brewery and We Are Lager, said; “Lager has had a bad reputation over the past 30 years and We Are Lager is aiming to change this by showcasing the best lager the world has to offer.”
