G&T History with Fever-Tree and Harvey Nichols

History class at school was always pretty interesting, especially when it got to the Victorians and we were told the reason why there were a load of huge brick mills at the end of every street in the area.

Hearing stories about little kids getting their hands trapped in a Spinning Jenny, or of the state of living in a two up-two down with 6 other families, all sharing the same bath and passing the same bowl of gruel around for their tea.

It’s not surprising then that to escape such a terrible life, the Victorians decided to get absolutely bladdered on Gin instead, many people making their own using local ingredients in their own manky bath tub.

Luckily things have changed today, with brand-new state-of-the-art craft distilleries popping up all over the place – offering a wide range of weird and wonderful concoctions in which to mix with an even bigger range of tonics.

To help you with the muddle of what to drink, where to get it and when, Harvey Nichols have got together with tonic specialists Fever-Tree to bring you an evening of Gin Tasting and history.

Taste your way through an expansive range of gins, including Pink Pepper, Warner Edwards, Portobello Road and Chase, perfectly paired with a Fever-Tree tonic and a helping of Harvey Nichols Bar snacks.
