A showcase of exceptional Christmas events comes to The Refuge once again - not forgetting the fantastic choirs...

This Christmas, The Refuge welcomes an exquisite selection of festive food and drink offerings, hand-selected partnerships and carefully crafted collaborations to create a festive period for everyone to enjoy. 

The Refuge Christmas Menu

First off – the food.

Christmas will welcome a festive feasting menu to remember, with a menu of Turkey Porchetta and Christmas ‘Ve’llington alongside cranberry-glazed Pigs in Blankets, Goose Fat Roast Potatoes, Orange-Glazed Carrots, Vimto-braised Red Cabbage and Cheese Mash Potato.

The whole thing is available from just £27.50 per person, for parties of six or more with dishes served sharing style.

A Refuge Christmas Carol

Every weekend throughout the festive period will see The Refuge put on a series of special Christmas events, workshops and activities – all proceeded over by live choirs, town criers and of course – Father Christmas himself.

A Refuge Christmas Carols kicks off on Thursday 28th November from 5pm with the following line up and (of course) everyone is welcome:

Family Gorgeous, Dr Sid & Our Kid’s Social
Thursday 28th November
The whole festive period will kick off with members of the Family Gorgeous serving up festive nibbles and tipples, all while Dr Sid is on the decks with his Thursday Honey Cooler. In addition there’ll be an Our Kids Social Christmas card lino printing as well as the first Town Crier appearance by owner Luke Chowdrey.

 

Live performance from The Sunday Boys choir, Family Rave (+ Ben Brown)
Saturday 30th November & Sunday 1st December

The first weekend sees live performances by Manchester’s male voice choir The Sunday Boys, the Playhouse Project Family Rave and a Town Crier special guest appearance by Finest’s very own Benjamin Joseph Brown.

Manchester Vocal Ensemble LIVE, Our Kids Social & Father Christmas!
Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th December
There’ll be LIVE performances throughout the weekend by the Manchester Vocal Ensemble, alongside some Christmas arts & crafts with the team from Our Kids Social. Most importantly, Father Christmas himself will be taking a break from his very busy schedule to walk around and say hello to all of the children )and adults).

Christmas Wreath Making with Bloom HQ
Thursday 12th December
Learn how to make your very own Christmas Wreath with the team from Bloom HQ. Your wreath will last the entire winter period and will be perfect adorning any part of your home. Using the season’s most beautiful and unique materials you’ll go away with something you can hopefully be truly proud of.

Action Against Hunger Charity Present Wrap, Our Kids Social & Father Christmas!
Friday 13th – Sunday 15th December
With guest Town Crier, Jamie Scahill from MCR Union Lager & Skiddle, this weekend will also feature a charity present wrap with Action Against Hunger, Our Kids Social arts & crafts and more wreath making with Bloom HQ. Oh, and Father Christmas will be making an appearance again.

Manchester Glee LIVE & Charity Present Wrap 
Friday 20th & Saturday 21st December
The final weekend will see LIVE performances from Manchester Glee, playing all of your favourite Christmas hits a cappella. In addition there’ll be a final charity wrap with Action Against Hunger – just in time to get those presents under the tree for Christmas Day.
