Calgary Avansino Executive Fashion Editor of Vogue presents the new seasons trends 2011.

If you say any of the words Moet, Fashion, Vogue, Selfridges and Exclusive to me; my face immediately lights up. Put them in a sentence together and you have a very happy princess on your hands. Picture the scene; I am sitting in my palace feeling poorly on a day off from ones duties, flicking through this months Vogue reading how Neons are the new Nude and lusting after many items through their pages. I then receive a call from my good friend at Manchester’s Finest inviting me to cover the Exclusive Vogue Fashion Presentation with the sassy Calgary Avansino; Vogues Fashion Editor!

I instantly have a Princess moment; imagining me with fizz in one hand, note pad and pencil (yes I know its very dark ages but much more “reporter-authentic-chic”), flicking ones hair over shoulder, cameras flashing and gorgeous designer brands sauntering towards me within a crowd of Manchester Finest. What I encountered to my delight wasn’t to dissimilar!

Phone calls immediately made to fellow Princesses, Uber sassy reporter style outfit decided, Hair extensions Jooshed and Viktor Rolf in bag ready for the next evening; Princess Retail was ready to report.

Entering Selfridges my eyes scanning the room to see Calgary and what outfit she would be wearing, however I was easily distracted by the waiter pushing a glass of fizz into my hand and showing me to my seat. The room filled with what can be described as Manchester Fashion Moguls, mixed with Wag-abees and a few Desperate Housewives. I’m instantly jealous of the lady sitting next to me in 1950’s chic, uber sleek hair, flawless makeup and an outfit to die for. I have to speak to her and find out where the outfit is from however am again distracted by my Fizz friend topping my glass up, but now with gorgeous hor’dourves in toe.

The lights dim slightly and the show starts. What came next can only be described as a young princess falling in love. Jimmy Choo, Victoria Beckham, Gucci, Prada, Roberto Cavalli all being paraded in front of my eyes!

Calgary starts narrating the show, telling us what’s hot, what’s not and relating every item back to Paris Fashion Week- I feel like I’m there! With Calgary’s knowledge she should be crowned Princess Retails Queen! I think everyone in the Moet Champagne lounge was hanging on Calgary’s every word.

Favourite pieces of the evening including a Victoria Beckham White Dress; made to compliment every woman. This is exclusive to Manchester Selfridges and is worth every penny! The Nude Jimmy Choo peep toe platforms, actually nearly knocked my favourite shoe of all time (Christian Louboutin Nude Peep-Toes) off the Princess Retail Top Spot.

The must have Maxi by Roberto Cavalli that would definitely make you feel like one of The Saturdays singing Missing you on a beach, in Ibiza, waves crashing behind you, summer sun just setting- see what fashion does to me! I’m carried away already!

The outfits were complimented by MAC make up with the over all theme being; make a statement however only with one piece. Dramatic neon lips accompanied with barely there eyes. Ridiculously harsh eyes with just a swoosh of clear lip-gloss.

The show has ended. I feel much more on trend for the coming season. My champagne flute is empty. There is a queue to get out?!

Feeling like a small child in a sweet shop we are told Selfridges is privately open to us, to purchase any of the items in the show! Myself and fellow Princess move swiftly to the shoe boudoir! Jimmy Choo’s in sight and feeling slightly tipsy from the bubbles. Were the Jimmy Choo peep toes purchased I hear you ask? A real Princess never tells.

For more of the same visit Princess Retail.
