Kosmonaut & PLY: Manchester Beer Week

To celebrate Manchester Beer Week – one of the best weeks in the world ever – NQ stalwarts Kosmonaut and PLY have announced a few events where they’re going to get their hands dirty and throats wet.

Running from Friday 23rd June ’til Sunday 2nd July, Manchester Beer Week is a city-wide celebration of all things hops and craft featuring loads of local brewers and beers in venues throughout the city.

Up & Coming @ Kosmonaut
Saturday 24th June, from 12pm
Kosmonaut will be hosting Up & Coming; a tap takeover by some of it’s favourite breweries. Heading to the pumps will be a top selection of beers from Alphabet Brewery, Beatnikz Republic and Macclesfield based twosome, Five Clouds. As usual you can also expect some food to be served alongside your drinks in the form of paired specials from Kosmonaut kitchen resident, The Hip Hop Chip Shop.

Black Lodge: Tap Takeover @ PLY
Saturday 24th June, from 12pm
Liverpool based brewers, Black Lodge, will be taking over the PLY taps for one day only with 6 lines of beer along with paired pizza specials. Black Lodge was set up by a dedicated and creative team of experienced brewers. With creativity in mind, they manage to brew experimental beers which usually equate to small batch and one off beers. These are usually influenced by people and the environment around it.

Rocket Brewery: Meet the Brewer @ Kosmonaut
Wednesday 28th June, from 7.30pm
The guys from Copenhagen-based Rocket Brewery are flying into Kosmonaut for a Meet the Brewer and Q&A event on Wednesday 28th. Mainly focusing on funky and sour beers, Rocket Brewery’s setup is rather low-tech, therefore lots of the production is very “hands on”, and local ingredients are used as much as possible. Included in the evening will be the tasting of 5 beers along with paired snacks and a boat load of knowledge imparted by the brewers.
