What Goes On at Gullivers, Manchester? An alternative to the norm is what…

Just far enough out of the uber-cool epicentre of the Northern Quarter lies Gullivers – a welcoming, traditional pub on the ground floor, with a platform for upcoming bands on the upper floor.  Sans poncy wallpaper the prices are pub and the regulars are welcoming.  Alongside this there’s a growing events calendar that includes award-winning disco rave Trash-o-rama presented by Homoelectric residents, and Smiths-fanatic essential Maladjusted, playing nothing but Morrissey and Smiths classics.

This Saturday 23rd July sees the first weekend addition of Thursday night favourite What Goes On, and they’re hosting a LA’s special.  Not one to discriminate good music of all ilks, the guys will also be taking requests and spinning a range of tunes from Aretha to Bob D.  The night kicks off at 9pm and goes on long enough to lighten your wallet, and fill your boots.  What’s more, entry is FREE, so that’s another excuse to add yourself to the alumni that is rumoured to include the likes of grumpy Manc legend Mark E Smith.

What Goes On @ Gullivers (109 Oldham Street, Manchester) takes place on Saturday 23rd July from 9pm.
