The album was a much-anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album which received accolades from Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone and more. Across its 10 tracks and 33 minutes the Toronto-based group dive back into the deep-end of reckless romance and altered dates.

Ice cream truck jangle collides with prismatic noise pop while Molly Rankin’s wit is refracted through a crystalline surf counterpoint. Through thoughtful consideration in basement and abroad, Alvvays has renewed its Scot-pop vows with a powerful new collection of manic emotional collage.

After posting a cryptic cartoon for fans, the group released the excellent strum-n-thrummer “In Undertow,” a breakup fantasy that is both crushing and charming for its level-headedness.

The band will be embarking this summer on an extensive world tour. The run of gigs will start in Bristol at Trinity on 16th February, before taking in shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds and Leicester.

Tickets for Alvvays’ Manchester show go live exclusively on the Manchester Academy website at 9am Thursday, general sale opens up the following Friday.
