The 5th Electric Elephant moves to The Garden Tisno for another sublime weekend of music on the seductive Croatian coastline this summer. After establishing its revered reputation in Petrcane, the festival now moves a little further along the sun-kissed Adriatic, to a region of true natural beauty and the new home for one of Europe’s coolest boutique festivals.

Heading another exceptional DJ lineup is legendary electronic record label Kompakt. Co-owner Michael Mayer is joined by label mates Rebolledo & Shumi to open the festival with an almighty bang. Starting with a 4 hour boat party on the legendary Argonaughty and followed by a 6 hour alfresco dance under the stars at the new outdoors Barbarellas nightclub, this sets the scene perfectly for the following 5 days and 5 nights.

There’s plenty more revered talent to savour. Andrew Weatherall, who needs no introduction, alongside Sean Johnston return with A Love From Outer Space – their eclectic mix of dub, proto-house, post-punk, Krautrock, disco, rock’n’roll and electronic oddities feature on both land and sea! More of the same comes from the Glasgow clubbing institution Optimo, with JD Twitch and JG Wilkes in attendance.

They are joined by two truly iconic figures from techno’s rich history, Justin Robertson and Ivan Smagghe, plus from the home of techno Detroit’s Marcellus Pittmann. There’s house and disco with Mike Simonetti of Italian’s Do It Better, French house maestro DJ Deep, Swag co-founder Chris Duckenfield plus Ewan Pearson and Loud – E.

London new kids on the block Feel My Bicep make their debut, and Electric Elephant regulars Lowlife return for a 5th year with Bill Brewster, Frank Broughton and Michael Cook. Kelvin Andrews and Balearic Mike bring the wonderful Balearic sounds of Down To The Sea & Back.

Manchester’s Electric Chair residents and Electric Elephant promoters The Unabombers hold it all together, alongside many more who offer a dizzying array of sounds, from blissed-out Balearica, sunshine Latin and soul, through to spaced-out disco and late night futuristic house & techno.
Electric Elephant is much more than just a festival; relax in the sunshine, swim in the sea and dance into the night under moonlit skies amidst breathtaking surroundings are all elements of a unique experience. Electric Elephant is a holiday, an escape, a getaway an adventure in the land of music with like minded souls that invokes the original spirit of Ibiza of the seventies and early eighties. The new site in Tisno features all Argonaughty boat parties, late night outdoor club sessions at the new Barbarellas, the main stage, Beach Bar and loads more to enjoy!

Electric Elephant and The Garden Festival are also proud to announce their double whammy collaboration for July 2012. EE runs from 12th – 16th July, directly after The Garden Festival. Tickets can be bought individually but there’s a special price of £150 for both – that’s a whole 12 days and nights of blissful festival fun at the stunning new site at Tisno, taking in both incredible experiences.

…30 Indian Shikar tents with electric fans and lighting, proper beds, mosquito nets, dressing room and porch area.

Tisno is an undiscovered musical paradise along the idyllic Croatian coastline. The new site has its very own village, featuring 80 on-site apartments which can hold 300 people, as well as 30 Indian Shikar tents with electric fans and lighting, proper beds, mosquito nets, dressing room and porch area. There are also 120 pitches for people bringing their own tents, totaling 700 berths in total on site.

The Garden Tisno is set in a gently hilly area which overlooks the festival’s very own beautiful bay below, complete with sandy beach and crystal clear water. Tisno – split between the mainland and the island of Murter, joined by a 20m rising bridge – is just a ten-minute walk away, is a charming picture-perfect town with a host of restaurants, cafes, apartments and small boutique hotels. Pristine national parks, secluded beaches and hundreds of islands are close by, with Croatia an easy country to travel around and explore its many wonders.

Tisno is situated pretty much right between Zadar and Split airports, with lots of flights from Europe to each. Keep checking for deals to Croatia from the UK – and Europe too – on airlines including Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2, Wizz Air, German Wings and Croatia Airlines, as routes have now been released and there are some bargains to be had.
