They're doing a co-headlining tour and they are due to hit the Academy this Halloween.
Thrice & Refused (Co-Headlining Tour)
Thursday 31st October, 6.30pm
American rock quartet Thrice formed in the late ’90s and became one of the more influential acts of the period alongside post-hardcore contemporaries Glassjaw and Thursday.
After a pair of early-2000s punk releases, they broke into the mainstream with 2003’s brooding hardcore The Artist in the Ambulance and 2005’s atmospheric Vheissu. Into the 2010s, Thrice issued five consecutive indie Top Five efforts, peaking with 2016’s hard rock-leaning To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere.
Swedish rock band Refused wasn’t just ruminating about the lasting impact of popular culture when it began its 1998 album The Shape Of Punk To Come with a lyric about classics never going out of style — it was also taking stock of its own turbulent existence, which met an ignominious end later that year in front of 50 kids at a basement show in a Virginia college town.
Now they’re both together for this co-headlining tour, where you can catch them at Manchester Academy on Thursday 31st October.
