The beguiling dark rock troupe arrive in town from London, and we honestly can’t wait.

Arrows of Love Finest

It’s not often we get excited about artists based on a couple of tracks alone; more proof is usually required before a balanced recommendation turns into pure unadulterated eagerness. Consider this one of those rare occasions then.

Arrows of Love first caught our attention a few months ago by way of footage from their gig at The Old Blue Last, that’s the pub in the capital owned by Vice magazine. The clip shows some heavy garage guitar work and an appreciation for noise and discordance, although the band themselves have more strings to their bow aside from those stylistic points.

Next month sees the arrival of some new material in the form of a single, The Knife, a decidedly more delicate, but no less gripping affair that nods to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, along with Liars. Ahead of that date (June 3rd), the players in this group have embarked on a UK tour, and we’d like to turn your attention to their gig at The Castle Hotel in our very own Northern Quarter, which takes place tomorrow- May 1st 2013. The aforementioned video is below, and provides more than enough evidence of why this is one school night everyone should be more than up for. See you on Oldham Street then.
