Launching at the Albert Hall on the 22nd July, Soul Town is an ultimate homage to the greatest music known to man – Motown. You can also expect some classic Northern Soul and 60’s club classics alongside some of the biggest names in Motown history.
Performing on the night will be the brilliant Martha Reeves & The Vandellas – basically the perfect presentation of the Motown sound and style, and one of the biggest names in music history.
They’ve produced timeless hits such as ‘Dancing in the Street’, ‘(Love is like) A Heatwave’ and ‘Jimmy Mack’ amongst many others. Flying to the UK just for the occassion – this evening looks set to be one party you are not going to want to miss!
Joining Martha + the Vandellas is DJ Russ Winstanley, northern soul DJ + founder of ‘Soul All Nighters’ at Wigan Casino who was at the centre of the Northern Soul movement. There’s also Colin Curtis, who celebrates his 50th anniversary as a DJ this year, joining long-time friend of Russ Winstanley, Alan King.
Completing the line-up is Manchester’s own Black Bee Soul Club who has been bringing Northern Soul to Manchester’s young, and forever young, souls for many years.
