Love is in the air this weekend but for those of you not spending the time either smooching on the sofa, wining and dining the other half or, like me, babysitting, here’s where to be practicing your best mating dance in Manchester.

1. Obscure Presents Bok Bok (Night Slugs)

bokbok

Roses are red, violets are blue, Obscure at Soup Kitchen on Friday night, lets get messy. Director of the Night Slugs record label and all round don Bok Bok will be loving you long time as he takes to the decks all night for a 5 hour romp. An impressive amount of time to last at any discipline, but with so many bangers in the box expect top notch tracks from start to finish all in the heart of the city centre.

2. Dub Smugglers & Herbal Sessions Presents Stand High Patrol

dubs

Two of Manchester’s old romantics finally get it together at Antwerp Mansion on Saturday. Dub, Reggae, Jungle and more can be expected over two rooms as they keep the fire burning in the spiciest suburb in Manchester. A candle lit meal at local hot spot Al Madina is always a good option should you get lucky.

3.Juicy, The Players Ball

jiucy

One of the cities major hip hop and R n B suppliers go all out on the Valentines day tip, boasting an ‘erection selection’ at the stroke of midnight on Friday at Gorilla. The time won’t be the only thing being stroked as DJ’s Oscar Wildstyle and Wiggie Smalls drop the finest jams to keep your head and hopefully your bed rocking till the early hours.

4. So Flute 3rd Birthday

flute

The Roadhouse plays host to a night consisting mainly of Disco, House on Friday with headliner Andrew Ashong getting the dancefloor wet and sweaty. Its their 3rd Birthday as well so another reason to celebrate. All early bird tickets sold out for this one so get down early to avoid disappointment, especially if this is your date.

5. Totally Lost It – Valentines Massacre

mass

Im gonna tell this one as it is. if you aren’t bothered about valentines day, maybe you just got out of a relationship and the only thing on your mind is getting totally destroyed, get to Bowlers on Friday. Not for the faint hearted this one will be one of the ultimate rave experiences. Hardcore legends make up  most of the line up, enjoy.
