Every September tens of thousands of students descend on Manchester. With music more accessible to all generations than ever before, students are increasingly more musically educated and know exactly what they want to hear in the clubs.

We’ve got 2 Season Tickets for all the Kolor nights and a bottle of bubbly on your first night there. Simply tweet us at @McrFinest with #Kolor or comment on this article to enter.

Commercial student nights are a beast like no other, filling clubs (venues) night after night. Blasting out the latest commercial radio station play list mixed in with a few karaoke favorites for everyone to sing along to on cheap alcohol. This is all part of University and is almost a rites of passage of being a student – some would argue you have missed out if you haven’t sang “Champagne Supernova” at the top of your voice hugging everyone at the end of a night out.

Kolor

Recognising that people will continue to have these experiences, but with the musical maturity amongst students ever growing, a need for a new breed of student night in Manchester has arisen. A group of established promoters and former students have teamed up with current students to add a variant to the social calendar. Merging affordability with Deep House, House, Tech House, and Techno headline DJs, normally seen on premium weekend nights, major clubs and festivals the world over. This new concept will allow students to see the DJs they are downloading, listening to and saving up months to see at big events every single week for less than what they spend on solving their hangover the next day.

Kolor encapsulates the concept of satisfying the wants and needs of musically educated students, in one venue, on one night, once a week. Throughout the rest of the week Studentville can hold residence to this enlightened generation, but every Thursday they can experience the music they live for orchestrated by the men and women who are the architects behind that very music. Kolor has every factor of the spectrum covered. Drinks prices will rival any student venue with one big difference! Vodka is actually branded premium vodka, Red Bull is exactly what it says on the can, Jager is certified Jagermeister – you get the idea. A premium club, with premium DJs, premium drinks at an affordable student price. Kolor is basically bringing Ibiza, Barcelona and Berlin type vibes to Manchester every single Thursday night. Set prices from local taxi firms will allow students to get to and from Venus with ease.

Just-Be-(Bushwacka!)

Supporting Kolor and giving a variation to the main room activity without sacrificing any of the credibility will be the sister brand Miseducation. With some of Manchester’s finest Old School Hip Hop, party hip hop and classic R&B DJs providing the soundtrack to Room 2, this in no way will be the chart/commercial room you see at other student nights. This will be the sounds of Biggie, Tupac, Jay Z, Nas, Nellie, R Kelly, Wu Tang Clan, Snoop Dog, Nate Dog, Dr Dre, Ice Cube and many more pioneer’s of this genre providing a high quality alternative at every event.

Early September 2013 will see the announcement of the first 11 weeks of Kolor, each week with its own headliner and highly respected local support. Season tickets will be made available allowing students to purchase a one off ticket giving them entry to every single event for a healthy saving. VIP packages for large groups and special occasions will be on offer if groups truly want that premium Ibiza club experience.
