In the most mouth-watering event of the year, the Food Porn Awards has returned bigger than ever in its search to find the North’s most eye catching culinary dishes.

In a bid to discover the most eye-catching culinary dishes across the North, a host of restaurants, bars, pubs and eateries throughout Manchester will be encouraged to enter images of their most visually impressive dishes to win the coveted 2018 award.

The awards, now in its third year, entries are now open for 2018 and close on 18th October 2017, showcasing the finest culinary creations across two categories; Fine Dining and Casual Dining.

Eateries can submit their images of great-looking food online via FoodPornAwards.co.uk. Professional food photographers from Manchester-based agency, STM Photography, will then select 30 dishes per category to move through to an online public vote. For the first time, members of the public will have the chance to feast their eyes on the images and vote for their favourite dish.

The 12 finalist dishes will then be reviewed by a panel of esteemed judges, including food developers, food bloggers and food journalists, to pick the final winner for each category, with winners announced at the Northern Restaurant and Bar Show in March 2018.

In the last two years the competition has received more than 600 entries – among them Manchester hot spots Menagerie, Iberica and Tattu, Cumbria’s The Gilpin Hotel and Lake House, as well as restaurants from well-known groups including The Botanist, Blackhouse and the New Moon Company.

Phil Marshall, STM managing director and curator of the Food Porn Awards, said: “The past two years of the awards have been hugely successful and showcased the wide range of talent in the North West, Cumbria and Yorkshire. This year we are delighted to open up the competition to the whole of the North and see what the North East can bring to the table. After last year’s successful expansion, we had to ensure 2018 was even bigger and better.
