As you’ll have already seen from our recent press release – on April 1st – Selfridges are exclusively launching the new Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani Sheers Collection and Manchester’s Finest were invited along prior to the launch to spend some time with one of their fabulous ‘Face Designers’ Thoa Tran.Already a fan of their Rouge d’Armani collection, which we had a sneak preview of when the new Beauty floor launched back in October, I was very excited to be given an overview of the full collection. I get a full on Armani education and find much to my surprise (and embarrassment to have not known already) – they have been perfecting their make-up and wonderful skin care range for no less than 12 years. And it really does show!

The Skin Care – years in development, is not loaded down with chemicals and perfumes, it’s all good stuff here, this is reflected slightly in the cost, but wonderful it really is. I’ve spent years trying to find a brand that stops my poor skin from breaking out yet instantly I find myself amazed at how it feels. It completely lives up to its promises to be “rich yet fresh, nourishing yet lightweight, protective yet transparent”.

Onto the makeup and not looking to simply plaster me in heavy foundation, Thoa spends time asking what I usually use and how I like my make up to be. We talk through the options available and the benefits to each, before colour matching my skin with the right foundation. The results – I look really fresh and natural but with great coverage.

On to the eyes, no vast expansive, confusing colour options – just a great selection of considered colours and eye shadows that work with the eyeliners to create different looks and effects.

My makeup completed with what is definitely going to now be my favourite new mascara and a blush/bronze finish that is so fresh and natural. And of course – it wouldn’t be complete without a lovely pinky/peach recommended shade of Rouge d’Armani Sheer.

Officially a convert – make no mistake – this isn’t just a ‘range by a fashion house’ this is a real contender, used by professionals, that cares for your skin and isn’t just about packaging (although please note – the packaging is of course GORGEOUS!).

Finest would like to thank Thoa Tran and the rest of the team @ Giorgio Armani Make Up in Selfridges at the Trafford Centre.
