‘A Spot of Pampering? YES, Please!’
Tucked away on the 2nd floor of Kendals, Partners Salon is the perfect haven for anyone who wants to be pampered from head to toe. Containing a team of hairdressers and spa therapists the list of what they offer is enough to satisfy even the fussiest of clientele…that’s why they invited ME to try the place out and give them my verdict.
One of the great things about Partners is that if you are a bit partial to the general public not seeing you ‘slapless’, as I am, (bad experience as a teen when a ‘friend’ of mine said I looked scary without make up on) you can literally park in House of Fraser car park which leads you straight into the salon – it’s also great for dodging the Manchester murk and not having it spoil your new ‘do’!
Calling all WAGs, this is a great place to avoid being papped – Coleen Rooney and Frankie Sandford take note!
As you walk down the sparkly black tiled corridor into the plush monochrome salon you can tell Partners has been designed for the ‘wow’ factor and to make you feel that your visit is something a little bit special. It’s also reflected in their range of unique treatments; from a silk sheet massage (Turkish Delight) to an ultimate 3 hour pamper (Total Surrender).
First on my list was their Choco Therapy- a must for chocoholics. Deeply hydrating and regenerating it involves a full body Choco scrub exfoliation, followed by being enveloped in their self-heating Chocolate body wrap (a bit like being covered in yummy chocolate spread).The final step of the indulging 60 minutes involves you being massaged with a cocoa butter moisturiser – leaving you with silky soft skin and smelling like you are good enough to eat!
I actually thought this wouldn’t be the most relaxing of treatments but I was wrong, the exfoliation was invigorating and the wrap made you feel warm and cosy ( I confess I even had a bit of a snooze whilst it was on). There’s no danger of any calories seeping into your skin via the chocolate…I checked, in fact it does the opposite, the caffeine in the cocoa both stimulates the skin and combats cellulite. Bonus!
After my treatment I got to spend time in the super stylish relaxation room before being whisked off for an Essie manicure that lasts for 2 weeks.
If, like me, you love your nails being painted but hate it when they chip then you would love this manicure. It is gel based so it means that the polish is sealed in and the nail is harder to break-perfect if you are looking for something to last for your holidays. The hardest thing was deciding which colour I’d like to adorn my talons for the next 14 days. There were so many colours to choose from, I was like a kid in a candy shop trying on every shade. In the end I plumped for the aptly named ‘Manic’-a hot pink colour (on trend with this seasons brights).
I finished my glorious time at Partners with a blow dry to sort out my ‘scarecrow’s nest’-(the head massage at the basin was so good I didn’t want it to stop). Perfectly coiffured and body glowing, I got a definite thumbs up from the ‘Hubby’ when I got home…I think I might have to make my next appointment pronto!
Verdict: A hidden gem that needs to be discovered. A ‘One Stop Shop’ for top-to-toe pampering.
