Successful project Sketch-O-Matic is to returning to Cornerhouse for the second year running, launching for the Manchester Weekender on Fri 12 October for a ten-day-residency.

Sketch-O-matic portrait images

Sketch-O-Matic is a full size live art photo booth, only unlike your usual photo booth a tiny, fully equipped artist’s studio will replace the machinery. You can then sit inside (as if for a photograph) and make a donation to the artist through a slot for a self- portrait. Wait approx. five minutes and the image will appear (could be anything from a pencil drawing, doodle, cartoon, collage or even word-poem.

When it premiered in November last year, it resulted in people queuing around the block to take part. Many of last year’s favourite artists will be making a return, but we’ll also be welcoming lots of new local artists to capture your visage for posterity.
