50% OFF Food

Lots of places in the city offer 50% off food on a Monday – it’s as if everyone knows just how bad of a day it is. Here are our favourite…

The Bay Horse Tavern
The perfect place for real good pub grub and the comfiest comfort food in town. I’m talking pie and mash, fish and chips and rotisserie chicken. It’s everything you need to make you smile plus loads of gravy. And no one can be sad when there’s gravy around. There’s also thrice cooked chips and plenty of sandwiches on offer.

Trof
Northern Quarter legends Trof offer a lovely bit of deal action on a Monday – 50% off all food all day long. For tables for 6 or less you can enjoy twice as many of their brilliant dishes all while tucking into an extensive range of ales and beers and wines and listening to some top tunes. Their burgers are always a pleasure so tuck into one of them, but I should also suggest you try their Fish and Chips – the chip shop curry mayo they shove on the side is amazing.

Black Dog
Everyone’s favourite place for some New York style food and booze. It’s easily the best place to go in town when you just wanna sit down eat your pizza with no messing about. If pizza ain’t ya thing though, there’s hot dogs, nachos, loaded fries, chicken wings, burgers. Just order it all and see how much you can eat, I would.

Pen & Pencil
Recently celebrating their 4th birthday, The Pen & Pencil are now a Northern Quarter stalwart, serving up food and cocktails day to night, seven days a week. On most days they serve up a great £10 lunch deal but, on a Monday, they offer up a belting 50% off all food all day. You’ll need to book it in advance but that’s not too hard to do is it.

Zumu @ Dive
You need to sign up and get a Dive NQ Card to get this deal but it’s free and easy to do so I’ll let them off. Their new Asian street food menu is fantastic – serving up a range of sushi, skewers, bao buns, small plates and some rather impressive platters – perfect for enjoying alongside some happy hour drinks with your mates.

Beer, Burger & Bowl @ Dog Bowl
It’s hard not to be happy when you’re playing bowling. It’s even harder when you’ve just had a massive burger and a beer. Unfortunately this offer doesn’t remove the awkward feeling of walking back to the seat after you’ve bowled but I can guarantee after a few beers it’ll start to fade away. Oh – this is also only £11. What a bloody bargain.
