12 Angry Guests: A Virtual Jury Experience
Tuesday 9th June
Have you seen the film 12 Angry Men? It’s amazing. Seriously, one of the best films I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a bloody lot of ‘em. The premise is simple – the film begins in the back room of a court as a jury (of 12 men) shuffles in after the trial of a murder. It’s then about their discussion and the importance of ‘reasonable doubt’. Well you can now experience it yourself with this virtual jury experience. It’s kind of like a murder mystery – you’ll hear all of the evidence and then decide your verdict. You’d best be certain though – someone’s life is in your hands! Not really but you get the idea.

Ultimate Girl Band Quiz with Cheryl Hole
Thursday 11th June
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK diva Cheryl Hole will be hosting a Girl Bands Quiz this Thursday so if you think you’ve got what it takes, or just want to (virtually) meet her – this quiz is for you. Personally, I think I could absolutely smash this one – girl bands are my specialist subject, with the life and works of Girls Aloud being a particular speciality. I think I’ll join in. It’s only a fiver and you can win a massive case of beers from Wildcard Brewery.

Da 5 Bloods on Netflix
Friday 12th June
Advance word on this new Netflix movie from Spike Lee is extremely positive, with many saying it could be the “movie of the year”. What’s it about? Well, it revolves around four Vietnam vets and their return to the country for the first time since the war to try and retrieve the body of a fallen comrade. But they’ve also got another agenda: retrieving some extremely valuable buried treasure misplaced by the CIA. It looks to incorporate a whole host of hard-hitting themes – and looks fantastic. It’s out this Friday.

Online Interactive Fresh Pasta Masterclass
Friday 12th June
For all lovers of pasta this one. Roberta d’Elia, an Italian sfoglina is presenting these Pasta Masterclasses online where she’ll teach you how to make fresh homemade pasta all by yourself in your own house. It’s one of those things that once you’ve had fresh – you’re never going to go back. This Friday she’ll be teaching you how to make gnocchi – which is probably a lot easier than spaghetti and all that – they require all of those expensive and complex machines that you see in Delia’s house when she’s filming. Gnocchi is just balls.

Reggaeton Party Virtual Fiesta
Friday 12th June
I spent 4 years of my 20s organising parties for foreign students throughout the city and if there’s one thing I will take from it all it’s that they bloody loved Reggaeton. And to be fair, at the end of it all – so did I. I couldn’t get enough of Daddy Yankee and his mates, which is why I reckon this virtual party will be bloody brilliant. It’s all to save the Clapham Grand, which is all the way down South so you might not be bothered about it but you can always throw them a few quid so they can get new toilet seats or something. While you dance away of course.

The Pride Ride 2020
Saturday 13th June
With COVID-19 still a threat, and lockdown still lingering on, this year’s Pride Ride is going to have to be done virtually, instead of in the real world, although the only virtual bit is the interaction with other people, the bike rides will be real enough. What do I mean? Well, because of social distancing rules, you’ll have to do your Pride Ride on your own – whether it’s on an exercise bike at home or out on a trail on your own – which you will then share with the Pride Ride community using the hashtag #OurPrideRide. Just make sure you wear something rainbow on your ride and share your stories and experiences on the Pride Ride socials.

World Gin Day with Atlas Bar
Saturday 13th June
This Saturday sees around 10 million middle-aged women find the perfect excuse to start drinking at 9am as our planet celebrates World Gin Day. Of course, it’s not just middle-aged women who drink gin – everyone does – and so it’ll be a great excuse for us all to enjoy ourselves in our front yard, back yard, balcony or bedroom – drinking as much of the stuff as possible before barfing. Instead of just blindly drinking away though, why not give a Gin Tasting Masterclass a try with city centre gin bar Atlas? They’ll deliver the gins to you beforehand and then all you need to do is tune in and enjoy.
